American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stroke Program Coordinator role in an ER setting, requiring Epic proficiency and hands-on stroke patient experience at a certified Stroke Center.

• Position is based in an ER unit within a hospital setting
• Primary work involves chart audits, data abstraction, and stroke protocol tracking — no direct hands-on patient care
• Responsibilities include AHA Get with the Guidelines reporting and stroke workflow compliance monitoring
• Heavy use of Epic for pulling times and supporting stroke program tracking
• Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint are used regularly in this role
• Monday–Friday schedule with 8- or 10-hour day shifts (8:00–17:00)
• Floating between multiple facilities within the state is required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or valid compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• Experience with stroke patients at a certified Stroke Center required
• ER or neuro inpatient experience may be considered in lieu of stroke coordinator experience
• Epic experience and chart audit experience are hard requirements — no exceptions
• Current BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• 8-hour stroke education certification obtained within the last year required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required
• Must provide a minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• Active RN license required at time of consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Role focuses on ensuring stroke protocol workflows are followed, including chart abstraction, data tracking, and compliance with AHA guidelines — not bedside nursing
• Code response experience is required
• The following HealthStream certifications are required: Code BART for Inpatient Nurses, Treatment Pathway for Inpatient Nurses, Yale Swallow Protocol, Individualizing Stroke Care Plans and Education, and SNAP Stroke Neuro Assessment by Providence
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent employees of this specific Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent employees of other Providence (non-Swedish) facilities are eligible after a 3-month separation period
• Minimal RTO is expected for this role; excessive time-off requests may impact eligibility
• Any RTO requests must be disclosed prior to submission — post-offer schedule changes are subject to denial
