American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and a block schedule commitment.

Details

• Work setting is a 379-bed short-term acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center
• Assignment in the Emergency Department (ED/ER)
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule (7p–7a, 3x12-hour shifts)
• Block scheduling is required
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block are required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating within the unit; however, travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state — refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ED/ER nursing experience (hard requirement, no exceptions)
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Licensed nursing personnel (RN/LVN) are required to wear solid navy blue scrubs; print tops are not acceptable
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Minimal RTO is expected for this position; limited time-off requests may be considered but significant RTO will impact eligibility
