American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, EKG rhythm interpretation proficiency, and comfort with gender affirmation surgery patients.

Details

• Hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Telemetry monitoring skills are required for this unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
• Gender affirmation surgery patient population is part of the unit's case mix; comfort with this population is required (prior experience preferred but not required)
• Night shift schedule: 18:30–07:00 (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• No on-call requirements
• Cerner EMR preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms
• Cerner documentation experience preferred
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide Med/Surg Telemetry nursing care, including monitoring patients following gender affirmation surgery
• Prior travel assignment experience preferred; first-time travelers with strong Cerner proficiency and excellent references will be considered
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate
• Flu vaccine is required for all staff at this facility
• May have exposure to COVID-positive patients
• Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 winter holidays, as well as other holidays during the contract period
