American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of high-risk L&D experience and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.

Details

• High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 beds and an average daily census of 15 patients, performing 500–600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adults in substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
• 4 operating rooms on the unit supporting all types of L&D cases
• Nurse functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Circulator role required; newborn care responsibilities include eyes, Vitamin K (thighs), and newborn assessments
• Medications administered include Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Epic EMR required; electronic fetal monitoring experience required
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; every other weekend required
• Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum, including potential float to sister facilities offering Mother/Baby care

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Minimum of 3–5 years of L&D experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment required; 5 years of high-risk L&D experience strongly preferred
• High-risk L&D experience is required
• Ability to circulate in the OR is required
• Ability to provide full newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments is required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Current proof of required certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff of non-Swedish Providence facilities must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; former Swedish facility employees are not eligible
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• Holiday coverage is required as needed
• Minimal RTO is expected for this position; time off requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
