American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) position at an academic cancer hospital in Ohio, requiring ONS Chemo Certification and at least 1 year of hematology oncology experience.

Details

• BMT unit within an academic cancer hospital setting, covering oncology, mixed acuity PCU, and med/surg patients
• Patient population includes diagnoses such as ALL, AML, CLL, CML, Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Aplastic Anemia, Amyloidosis, and Myeloproliferative Disorders
• Unit performs autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
• Specialized skills utilized include chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, port access and care, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Schedule is 12-hour night shifts (3x12, 19:00–07:30); a rotating day/night option may also be available based on unit needs
• Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period and may include days, nights, or a combination depending on staffing needs

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or valid compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience overall, with at least 1 year of hematology oncology experience required
• Relevant experience must fall within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience is required
• Required certifications: BLS and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification
• Preferred certifications: ACLS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Inpatient BMT or bone marrow transplant work setting experience required
• Med/Surg and telemetry experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; coworker references are not accepted

Additional Information

• Care responsibilities include chemotherapy and blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, port access and care, feeding tube management, and symptom management for oncologic emergencies, sepsis, nausea/vomiting, and abnormal lab values
• Isolation precautions and proper PPE use are integral to daily practice on this unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply and are encouraged to bring a willingness to learn and grow their nursing practice
• Candidates who are current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Former employees are eligible for consideration after a minimum 6-month break from the facility
• Local candidates are accepted
• All candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting as soon as possible after signing a contract; candidates outside Ohio may be required to drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration and will be built into the contract
