American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and telemetry competency on night shifts.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital with a Level III Trauma designation
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities is required
• Charting is performed in Epic
• Scrub color is Royal Blue
• Parking is provided at no cost

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry competency required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed prior to the assignment start date
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
