American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine/Nephrology unit position requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Stepdown experience and nephrology-specific patient care knowledge.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Medicine/Nephrology unit
• Patient population includes a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex, with a focus on nephrology cases
• Familiarity with dialysis site care is expected, including proper handling of HD catheters and avoiding fistula access for blood draws
• Experience with central line care and management, foley care and management, and end-of-life care is expected
• Night shift schedule, 3 days per week, 12 hours per day (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact/eNLC license) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and/or Stepdown experience required
• Charge nurse experience is a strong plus
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Full DOB required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Candidate is expected to interact with patients and families regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning, and to delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Charge nurse experience is highly valued for this role
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may reapply after a 6-month separation period following a total of 26 weeks worked
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) is strictly enforced and must be completed by the facility's due date — non-compliance may result in cancellation
