American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher with an Affective Needs/Severe Needs endorsement for an elementary school placement requiring strong behavior management skills and a trauma-informed approach.

Details

• Elementary school setting (1st–5th grade) in a self-contained special education classroom
• Caseload of approximately 10 students with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) and Autism
• Supported by 2 paraprofessionals in the classroom
• Monday–Friday day shift, 7:15 AM–3:15 PM (5x8-hour schedule)
• 40 contracted hours per week
• 12-week contract with potential for long-term commitment into the 2026–2027 school year

Requirements

• Affective Needs or Severe Needs endorsement/certification required
• Strong behavior management skills required
• Experience with trauma-informed practices and students identified with SED and Autism required
• Resume required for consideration
• License required if applicable
