American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position at a community hospital, requiring at least 2 years of LDRP experience and the ability to float within a regional network of facilities.

Details

• Work in a 101-bed community hospital within an OB/GYN unit consisting of 10 LDRP beds, 2 OB beds, and 2 triage beds
• Patient population includes labor, triage, postpartum, and newborn care with an average daily census of 7
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for inactive labor, and 1:3–4 for couplet care
• 12-hour day and night shifts (0700–1900 and 1900–0700) on a 6-week scheduling cycle
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating required within Region 3, which includes Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division facilities (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — candidates must be willing to float to all listed facilities within scope of practice
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, bladder scanner, fetal monitoring, and HUGGS system

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required; Postpartum-only, L&D, or LDRP experience will be considered
• Most recent experience must be within the last year
• Proficiency in labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op and PACU care, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include labor management, cesarean section circulating, pre-op and PACU recovery, triage, newborn resuscitation, and couplet care
• Department support includes a scrub tech, charge nurse, OB MD, anesthesia/CRNA team, respiratory therapy (24/7), and phlebotomy shared between nursing and lab
• Patients recovering from cesarean sections are monitored and recovered in-room unless general anesthesia was used
• Orientation includes general (NEO) and 2 days of departmental training
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays
• Unit culture is described as positive and family-oriented
• Scrubs are provided by the facility; parking is free
• First-time travelers may be considered if necessary
• Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
