American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care or inpatient rehab experience for a Level III Trauma and Stroke Center hospital setting.

Details

• Work in an acute care hospital setting at a Level III Trauma and Stroke Center
• Patient population includes orthopedic post-op, ICU, cardiopulmonary, and med/surg patients
• Day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Sunday through Saturday
• 2 weekend days per month required

Requirements

• Current, active OT license (license required if applicable)
• NBCOT certification required
• VA OT license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital and/or inpatient rehab experience preferred
• New graduates with less than 1 year from graduation are not considered unless the candidate has 6 months of recent acute care experience within their first year
• Master's degree or qualifying Bachelor's degree from an ACOTE-approved program required
• Experience working with adult and geriatric populations desirable
• Proof of address and 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Conduct initial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide age-appropriate therapeutic interventions
• Document patient care, progress, and discharge planning in the electronic medical record
• Provide patient and family education to support continued functional independence
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for discharge planning and ongoing patient care
• Participate in department performance improvement, safety activities, and survey preparation
• Pass/fail EKG test administered on the first day with 2 attempts allowed; study guides will be provided
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
