American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring at least 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience and the ability to take a minimum of 14 call days per month.

Details

• Monday through Friday schedule with a minimum of 14 call days per month, which may include weekends, nights, and holidays
• Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab with 3-4 rooms including Cath, Vascular, EP, and hybrid labs
• Equipment includes GE machines and one Siemens unit in the Vascular lab
• Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular cases, with an average of 4-8 caths per day
• Advanced procedures performed include TAVR, PFO closures, Watchman, atherectomy (CSI, RotaPro, laser), IVUS, iFR/FFR, EKOs, and angiography/balloon stenting
• Lab is equipped with balloon pump and Impella
• Adult and geriatric patient population (ages 18 and older)
• Epic EHR is used (training provided; experience preferred)
• Role involves both scrub and circulator functions
• Must be able to respond to STEMI callbacks within 30 minutes

Requirements

• Active RN license — must be a VA state license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs and perform physical patient care duties including maneuvering patient weight
• Proof of address and a valid photo ID (Driver's License, Voter Registration, Federal Tax Return, Military Form 2058, or W2) required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Copy of certifications and 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Nursys license verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• EP experience is a strong plus, though not required
• A pass/fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam is administered on the first day with two attempts allowed; a study guide will be provided
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position — local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, plan of care development, medication administration, hemodynamic monitoring, and care coordination with the interdisciplinary team
• Nurse also assists with insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, transvenous/temporary pacing, and administration of conscious sedation
• A manager interview follows the clinical interview, which may extend the offer timeline
• Holiday call coverage is required as part of the on-call rotation
• BSN is preferred
