American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a float pool PCU/Progressive Care position requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience, both KS and MO (or compact) RN licenses in hand, and availability for night shifts across multiple metro campuses.

Details

• Float pool position — will not be assigned a home unit; floats between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, covering any combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Patient population includes cardiac (pre/post cath, A-fib, dysrhythmias), neuro (stroke), sepsis, renal failure, GI bleed, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID patients
• Required skills include cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and emergency response
• Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Equipment used includes Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active RN license — both Kansas and Missouri licenses, or a compact license, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/telemetry specialty experience required
• Must have at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
• Experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown settings required
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor level or above; the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from someone who has worked with the candidate within the past year

Additional Information

• RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
• Charge RN assignments and holiday shift coverage may be required as needed by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel partner arrangements are not accepted for this position
• Completion of facility compliance modules (approximately 10–15 hours total) is required prior to the start date
• Pre-employment drug screening is required; a diluted or positive result that cannot be cleared may result in cancellation and a 6-month waiting period before reapplying
