American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a MO or compact RN license, with at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and proficiency in cardiac telemetry and a wide range of intermediate-level skills.

Details

• Night shift position, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Work on a 30-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 29
• Intermediate-level patient population including sepsis/infection, CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, AMI, CVA/TIA, altered mental status, ETOH withdrawal, SI, general post-op, ortho, urology, and GI bleed
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central/PICC/peripheral line care, Heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), HFNC and oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, feeding tube management, and isolation precautions
• 4–6 weekend shifts required every 6 weeks
• Floating required within service line and to sister facilities as needed
• Charting via Epic
• No on-call requirements
• Navy scrubs required

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand; both Kansas and Missouri licenses (or compact equivalent) must be in hand prior to starting due to potential floating between facilities
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required, with at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• 2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor level or above, the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year
• SSN required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted; travel experience is preferred
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the contract; RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Travel partners are not accepted for this position
• Orientation modules averaging 10–15 hours are required as part of compliance and must be completed prior to the start date
• A 13-week contract minimum is in place, with the possibility of extension beyond 13 weeks
