American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital in New Mexico, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and hands-on proficiency with advanced cardiac devices including ECMO, IABP, and Impella.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:2 in the CVICU
• Patient population includes post-op open heart surgery (CABG, aortic aneurysm repair/dissection, endovascular repair, Fem-Pop bypass), as well as pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis
• Advanced equipment in use includes CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, Hemosphere, Bladerscanner, Cortrak, Ultrasound, Philips monitors, ZOLL, Dopplers, Glidescope, Pupilometer, Blanketrol, Arctic Sun, Belmont, and BairHugger
• Charting performed in Cerner
• Weekends required on an as-needed basis
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED (for admitted patients), and PACU (for admitted patients)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or CTVICU experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Proficiency with bedside procedures including tracheostomy/PEG care, bedside surgical procedures, CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, CVCs, chest tubes, Foley insertion, and NG tubes
• Experience at a Level I Trauma or academic teaching hospital preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
