American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Stepdown) position requiring EKG strip reading ability and ACLS certification, with evening/night shift availability and every-other-weekend commitment.

Details

• Stepdown/Med-Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults (18–64) and geriatrics (65+)
• Patients may present with multi-system organ failure, multisystem trauma, and complex cardiac conditions
• Nurses are expected to manage chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, transvenous/temporary pacing, conscious sedation, and advanced respiratory modalities
• 12-hour PM shifts
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every-other-holiday and every-other-weekend schedule required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Epic EHR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips required
• Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents: driver's license, voter registration card, federal income tax return, Military Form 2058, or W-2 from the US government)
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Copy of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Delivers care using the nursing process including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• Acts as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and with families or caregivers
• Serves as a patient safety and patient rights advocate
• A pass/fail EKG exam is administered on the first day of orientation, with two attempts allowed — a study guide will be provided
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• BSN preferred
• CCRN, PCCN, and NIH Stroke certifications are preferred but not required
