American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum position requiring prior travel experience, a minimum of 2 years of experience, and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum unit in a hospital setting
• Level 2 nursery experience required
• Couplet care model with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Patient population includes newborns and postpartum mothers, including neonatal abstinence syndrome, large for gestational age, and low birth weight infants
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every third weekend required
• Cerner EMR experience is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Mother-Baby/Post Partum nursing experience required
• Level 2 nursery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — no exceptions
• Cerner EMR experience required — no exceptions
• Skills required: administration of blood/blood products, CVC/PICC line management, peripheral IV start and maintenance, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, newborn assessment, neonatal abstinence syndrome care, couplet care, baby-friendly protocols, incision and cord care, circumcision assistance, car seat education, discharge teaching, isolation precautions, IV antibiotics, pain management (opioids and pain assessment), and medications including anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and oxytocin
• PDF copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide couplet care to postpartum mothers and newborns, including assessments, medication administration, and discharge teaching
• Preferred skills include phototherapy, thermoregulation, epidural and PCA IV pain management, breastfeeding pump support, circumcision care education for parents, and experience with large for gestational age and low birth weight infants
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
