American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant for a 26-week cardiovascular OR assignment requiring at minimum 2 years of experience and CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSA certification.

Details

• CVOR setting within a hospital surgical services department
• Cardiovascular, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical cases
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• On-call required approximately 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks, subject to change based on departmental needs
• Weekends required during call rotation only
• Floating within facility/scope of practice and to the Main OR as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• One of the following certifications required: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), NBSTSA, or NCCSA
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Experience in cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic procedures required
• Copies of all relevant certifications required for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

Additional Information

• This position requires a privileging process prior to start, with an approximate timeline of 3 months from signature — candidates should plan accordingly
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No scheduling requests or alternate shift arrangements are accepted — the posted day shift schedule is firm
• RTO is capped at 7 days total; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• No holiday RTO is accepted if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period; if three or more occur, one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
