Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg position on a 3D Medical unit, requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and a minimum of one prior travel assignment.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg unit (3D Medical)
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR used; on-site training available for those without prior Epic experience

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or from a Compact State
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg experience
• At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
• ADN or ASN degree required
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care using the nursing process
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols, documenting in accordance with policy
• Identifies and addresses patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Completes population/age-specific and procedural competency education and testing per unit standards
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
• 13-week contract
