American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a day shift Med/Surg role in an Inpatient Oncology Unit, requiring a NM or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Inpatient Oncology Unit within a regional medical center
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required

Requirements

• Active NM RN license or current Compact state RN license required
• BLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served
• Ability to handle emergency and crisis situations
• Must be capable of prolonged standing, walking, and heavy physical effort including positioning, pushing, and transferring patients and equipment
• Requires considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
• Visual and hearing acuity within normal or correctable limits; manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

• Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served
• Ensures quality care is provided in a safe and efficient manner consistent with unit standards
• Reports to the Patient Care Director or Manager
• Work environment includes potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
• Schedule may be subject to change due to unexpected circumstances or emergencies
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
