American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and active IL RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 97-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts per week)
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Responsibilities include fast-track, triage, and high-acuity patient care
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Floating may be required between two campus locations or to inpatient units during slow periods
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; pending IL license may be acceptable — note status on application
• Active MO state RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Preferred certifications: PALS and TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong teamwork, customer service, and communication skills
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• No parking cost at the facility
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Local candidates (within 75 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this position
