American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, with telemetry experience preferred and a minimum 75-mile radius requirement.

Details

• Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (4x12-hour shifts)
• Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• Short-term acute care hospital setting within a Medical/Surgical unit
• Patient population includes those with diabetes, renal conditions, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and cancer patients not currently receiving chemotherapy — surgical patients are not treated on this unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Charting is done via Epic
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• No on-call required
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required; pending IL license may be considered (please note at time of consideration)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• Med/Surg telemetry experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Nurses care for acute medical patients with conditions such as DM, renal disease, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and oncology (non-active chemo) — this is not a surgical unit
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work up to 18 months continuously before a 3-month break in service is required

• Night shift workers receive complimentary parking in employee lots
