Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ICU position requiring strong neuro experience, previous travel experience, and night shift availability.

Details

• ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Neurosurgical and multi-system patient population, including post-craniotomy, post-thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, fempops, and CEA patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2+
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 3–4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)

Requirements

• Active KY or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Strong neuro experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in airway management, vented patient management, central line management, arterial line management, and IV drip management
• Experience with dysrhythmia management and interpretation, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and titration of IV vasopressors
• Experience with management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience with isolation precautions
• Proficiency with computerized documentation
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for complex neuro and surgical ICU patients including post-craniotomy, post-thoracic, neurosurgical, fempop, and CEA cases
• Responsibilities include titration of IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation management
