American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring Level 1-2 trauma experience and strong post-surgical skills, working nights in an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Acute Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Heavy trauma and GI post-operative patient population
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in good standing, with no licensure hits
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Telemetry experience required
• Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
• Trauma and general surgery post-operative experience required
• Experience with abdominal surgeries required
• Experience managing tracheostomies (trachs) required
• Proficiency with Foley catheters, surgical drains, wound vacs, ostomies, ports, and PICCs required
• Experience with TPN and lipid administration required
• 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered provided they have Level 1 trauma experience
• Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; RTO requests submitted after the initial profile submission will not be approved
