American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health/Psychiatric position at an acute inpatient psychiatric facility in Moosic, PA, requiring an active PA RN license and recent psych experience including restraint protocols.

Details

• Acute inpatient psychiatric hospital setting in the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre metro area of northeastern PA
• Patient population includes adults through geriatric; adolescent unit opening in April
• Treats mental health and behavioral disorders, substance abuse, and addictions
• Staffing ratio of 1:20 depending on acuity
• Day shift: 8 or 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 6:00 AM–4:30 PM), 40 hours per week
• Weekends and holidays assigned as needed
• EMR: Epic with paper charting used for restraint documentation
• Medication system: Omnicell; onsite pharmacy open 24/7
• Restraint procedures are performed on this unit

Requirements

• Active PA RN license (PA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing experience required
• Experience with restraints is required

• Orientation is 3–5 days
• Handles With Care de-escalation training is provided at no charge during orientation
• Gray scrubs required
• Located near a ski resort, approximately 40 miles from the NY–NJ border
• Candidates living within 30 miles of the facility qualify for local pay rates; those beyond 30 miles qualify for travel pay rates
