American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical ICU position in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Medical ICU experience and an active NV RN license.

Details

• 8-bed Medical ICU unit with 1 Critical Care Technician per shift
• Chest pain accredited center; no cath lab or IR on-site — patients requiring these services are transferred to a sister campus
• ICU Charge RN also serves as the Rapid Response RN
• Set group of intensivists who rotate weekly and are on-call 24/7
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• No on-call requirements outside of scheduled shifts
• Floating to other units may be required up to the nurse's competency level
• EMR: Epic — training provided during orientation or candidate may test out
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinates care across disciplines and manages individualized patient outcomes throughout the episode of care
• Must be available to work a minimum of 2 major holidays (Eve + Day counts as 1 holiday)
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to placement and will not be made up at the end of the contract
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their last contract before returning
