American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Med/Surg Telemetry position in San Antonio, TX, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based acute med/surg unit serving a mixed patient population including rehab, surgical, and respiratory patients
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR used for charting; experience preferred but not required
• Experience with trach/vent and high-flow oxygen is recommended but not required
• Rehab nursing experience is recommended but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or via compact state required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
• BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Provides patient and family education, identifying learning needs and available resources
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Temp-to-perm conversion is possible
• SSN required for consideration
