American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position in San Antonio, TX, requiring at least 1 year of pediatric ICU experience and proficiency with mechanical ventilators.

Details

• Pediatric ICU (PICU) setting within a children's hospital
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract with temp-to-perm potential
• Full-time schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or a compact state currently in hand
• Current certifications required (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric ICU experience required
• Mechanical ventilator experience required
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Active, unexpired copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of pediatric patients and their families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
• New hires attend a New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by a designated trained staff member
• Onboarding includes completion of organizational entry competency validation and a Pediatric Services-specific competency validation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
