Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist experienced in pediatric feeding for a 20-week outpatient pediatric assignment in southern California, requiring CA OT license, BLS, and NBCOT certification.

Details

• Outpatient pediatric occupational therapy setting
• Work schedule is 4x10 hour day shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 08:00 to 18:30, with Tuesday off
• Length of assignment is 20 weeks
• No on-call requirements, but may be called off based on census
• Attendance at monthly Tuesday team meetings is optional; hours can be flexed
• Primary patient population includes children with feeding/eating, sensory, and mild oral motor difficulties
• Floating required within hospital and to satellite locations for NICU, with mileage reimbursement when applicable
• Charting is done using Epic EMR; prior Epic experience is preferred but not required

Requirements

• Valid and active California Occupational Therapy license required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of relevant pediatric experience, including outpatient peds and feeding techniques
• Current BLS certification
• Current NBCOT certification
• Experience with sensory diet programs and autism required
• Brief statement on pediatric feeding experience required for consideration
• Children’s hospital or Level 1 trauma experience preferred, but not required
• Compliance with maximum of 6 days requested time off (RTO)
• Must provide references from supervisors within the last 2 years

• Key responsibilities include assessment and treatment of pediatric patients with sensory and mild oral motor feeding difficulties
• Team meetings occur once per month and attendance is optional
• Candidates may be required to float to other locations based on hospital needs
• Scrubs of any color allowed
• Free parking available for travelers
• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start and are not counted as orientation hours
• Candidates must work at least 2 out of 3 holidays within assignment timeframe
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Permanent staff must wait one year after employment to be eligible for travel roles
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
