American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with home health experience and BLS certification for a day-shift assignment serving adult patients in skilled home care settings.

Details

• Work in a home health setting with a focus on adult patient care
• Patient caseload includes med/surg, cardiac, orthopedic, post-surgical, respiratory, neurological, and rehabilitative cases
• Home skilled visits include 6-8 visits per day, with a minimum of 6 points per day
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Use of laptops, MiFi for internet access, and portable printers provided
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Visits and hours are self-scheduled based on office needs
• Candidates may float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Assignment in skilled home care with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients

Requirements

• Active FL Occupational Therapist license or compact license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of independent home health OT experience required, 2 years preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable car for home visits
• COVID vaccination or approved exemption required
• Flu shot or declination with mask mandate required while at work
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, developing home exercise programs, performing cardiac rehab, splinting, joint mobilization, and patient/family education
• Must be skilled in ADL training, edema massage, feeding techniques, standardized assessment, prosthetics/orthotics, TENS, ultrasound, and safety/injury prevention
• Documentation involves Ace Timesheet and BayCare-specific forms and scheduling systems
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Smoke-free work environment
• Return staff must wait at least 1 year before applying as a traveler
• A 100-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
• No RTO requests accepted within the contract; any requests must be discussed directly with unit manager
• Pre-employment requirements include compliance documents, pass/fail EKG exam, and completion of approximately 4 hours of pre-start and annual modules
