American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of recent home health experience for adult home health visits in the Sarasota and Charlotte County area.

Details

• Home health setting with adult patient population including med/surg, cardiac, ortho, neuro, post-surgical, and respiratory cases
• Patients include those with CHF, COPD, CVA, falls, Parkinson’s, failure to thrive, trauma, amputations, and trachs
• Home skilled visits with a minimum of 6 visits per day, potentially up to 8 as determined by manager
• Day shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Visits and hours are self-scheduled based on HomeCare office needs
• Use of laptop, MiFi internet access, and portable printers provided
• Charting uses BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, Ace Timesheet, with Cerner charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active FL license or Compact OT license required, if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of independent home health OT experience required, 2 years preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable car required for home visits
• COVID-19 vaccination or documented exemption form required
• Flu vaccination or completed declination form with mandatory mask usage required when at work
• Experience with OASIS documentation preferred
• Strong skills in adult OT including ADLs, cardiac rehab, feeding techniques, splinting, patient education, safety, and standardized assessment

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include evaluating and treating adults in their homes, developing home exercise programs, patient and family education, and performing specialized OT procedures
• Caseload includes a wide variety of conditions and multidisciplinary collaboration is expected
• Orientation includes completion of pre-start and annual modules, with average 4 hours
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• 100-mile radius rule applies; candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• Permanent employees must wait at least one year to return as a traveler unless in specified specialties
• No RTO requests are accepted in contract; requests must be worked out with the unit manager on site
• Solid color scrubs are required
• Facility is smoke free
• Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts) as part of compliance requirements
